Healthy homemade turkey marinara sauce

Forget using a store bought spaghetti sauce just look at all the sodium. Making sauce from scratch is remarkably easy and takes minutes to prep. This is the core sauce menu but there are a ton of ways you can jazz this sauce up:
Add 1/2 cup Red wine while browning the turkey meat
Add 1/4 cup Vodka while browning meat
Add 1 Tsp Crushed red pepper to spice it up
The list of very easy tweaks is endless

Turkey marinara

  • 1 Lbs Ground turkey
  • 4 Each Garlic cloves minced
  • 1 Each Small onion diced
  • 2 Tbls Fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 Each 28 Ounce can Hunts no salt added crushed tomato
  • 1 Each 14 Oounce can Hunts no salt added petite dice tomato
  • Salt and Pepper


  • Brown ground turkey pour off fat
  • Add all the other ingredients and simmer minimum 30 minutes to reduce and intensify the flavors
  • Salt and pepper to taste


This sauce can be served over a bed of your favorite pasta. It can also be used to make lasagna or any baked Italian pasta dish. 
Omit the ground turkey and serve over Chicken Parmesan
