Grilled ham and cheese on crack! So easy to make it is great for breakfast lunch or dinner. Sweet savory everything you could want in a sandwich.
Monte Cristo Sandwich
Servings: 2 People
Ingredients
- 4 Slices Thick sourdough bread
- 4 Ounces Sliced maple ham
- 4 Ounces Sliced swiss Some recipe call for gruyere
- 1 Tbls Mayo Dukes
- 1 Tbls Dijon Mustard
- 2 Each XL eggs beaten
- 1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
- 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Tsp 10x Sugar
- 3 Tbls Raspberry preserves
- 2 Tbls Milk
Instructions
- Mix beaten egg, nutmeg, cinnamon, milk
- Spread bread with dijon on one piece, mayo on the other ( for both sandwich)
- Place swiss on bread dividing between all 4 pieces
- Heat Skillet over medium high heat
- Place ham on bread
- Build sandwiches
- Dip entire sandwich into egg wash thouroughly immersing both sides
- Place sandwiches on skillet and cook both sides until golden brown and cheese melty
- Sift 10x sugar over top and serve with raspberry preserves for dipping
