Wedge Salad with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing

Classic Wedge Salad goes well with almost any meal and can be stand alone lunch or light dinner.

Wedge Salad

  • 1 Each Iceberg lettuce head
  • 8 Ounces Homemade blue cheese dressing
  • 4 Ounces Crumbled bacon cooked
  • 2 Each Roma tomatoes each cut into 1/8's
  • 4 Ounces Blue cheese crumbles
  • 1/4 Cup Red onion small diced


  • Remove core from lettuce, remove outer leaves wash and cut into quarters leaving each quarter intact
  • Put quarter of lettuce on each plate
  • Top each quarter with 2 Ounces each dressing, 1 ounce cheese crumble, 1/4 of the red onions, 1 ounce bacon crumble and plate around it the Roma tomatoes.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate so serving very cold

Blue Cheese Dressing and Dip

Making from scratch blows away all store bought versions

  • 1/2 Cup Mayo
  • 3/4 Cup Sour cream
  • 1/2 Tsp Dry mustard
  • 1/2 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 Tbls Half and Half
  • 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbls White wine vinegar
  • 3 Ounces Blue cheese crumbles


  • Add the lemon juice to the half and half and stir to incorporate
  • Stir in all other ingredients
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors marry


This is great as salad dressing or as dipping sauce for veggies or wings
