Monte Cristo Sandwich

  • 4 Slices Thick sourdough bread
  • 4 Ounces Sliced maple ham
  • 4 Ounces Sliced swiss Some recipe call for gruyere
  • 1 Tbls Mayo Dukes
  • 1 Tbls Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Each XL eggs beaten
  • 1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Tsp 10x Sugar
  • 3 Tbls Raspberry preserves
  • 2 Tbls Milk


  • Mix beaten egg, nutmeg, cinnamon, milk
  • Spread bread with dijon on one piece, mayo on the other ( for both sandwich)
  • Place swiss on bread dividing between all 4 pieces
  • Heat Skillet over medium high heat
  • Place ham on bread
  • Build sandwiches
  • Dip entire sandwich into egg wash thouroughly immersing both sides
  • Place sandwiches on skillet and cook both sides until golden brown and cheese melty
  • Sift 10x sugar over top and serve with raspberry preserves for dipping
